Music. Community. Purpose.
The Beacon of Love Musical Campaign is a 2026 fundraising initiative created by performing artists Izii Isreal and Elita Starr of Outahit Records to benefit the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN).
This campaign was born from an extraordinary friendship - one rooted in music, generosity and community.
Where it All Began…
In 2022, Isreal and Elita donated a live musical performance to the Newton community. Bob and Jan Schreiber generously opened their home as hosts, creating an intimate space where guests could gather, listen and connect — all free of charge. What began as a simple collaboration quickly grew into something deeper. Through conversation, laughter and shared values, both couples discovered a powerful common ground: Life, love, music, charity and community.
When Bob and Jan shared Bob’s journey with bladder cancer — including the challenges, miracles and the vital support they received from BCAN — Isreal and Elita felt called to do more.
Turning Music Into Meaningful Impact…
For the past several years, Isreal and Elita have brought their music to the Boston BCAN Walks. But in 2026, they are taking their commitment further. From April 1 through June 30, 2026, they will donate 50% of all proceeds from downloads and streams of the OutaLove album to support BCAN and the Boston Walk.
The album is available on all major platforms, including Apple Music, YouTube and Spotify. Every stream becomes support. Every download becomes hope. Every share spreads awareness.
Why It Matters…
Bladder cancer impacts thousands of families each year. BCAN plays a critical role in providing patient support, education and advocacy, research funding and community connection. This campaign transforms something simple — listening to music — into a meaningful act of generosity.
A Movement in the Making…
“Our goal is to make The Beacon of Love Musical Campaign an annual fundraising initiative that allows people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in supporting BCAN — in just a few minutes a day. We remain inspired by Bob and Jan’s courage and their commitment to bringing light to others.” — Elita Starr, Outahit Records
Bob & Jan Schreiber…
In 2019, we took part in our neighborhood’s very first-ever musical festival, Porchfest. The organizers paired us with Isreal and Elita, who performed at our home, sharing their beautiful blend of original music and covers. By the end of their set, we felt an instant and genuine connection. It was such a serendipitous match, meeting people who felt like old friends from the very beginning.
Since that day, they have returned to perform at our house for every annual Porchfest. We’ve also gone to see them at other venues, where they perform professionally, as well as generously donating their time to a wide range of nonprofit organizations. And beyond the music, we’ve built a true friendship, spending time together simply as friends, sharing meals, laughter, and life. What began as a performance quickly became something much more meaningful.
That first Porchfest connection led us to invite them to perform at our annual Walk to End Bladder Cancer in Boston. They have done so every non-pandemic year since. Their generosity of spirit is truly remarkable. They give so much of themselves to support people facing difficult journeys, including those of us living with bladder cancer, along with our caregivers, families and friends.
From the moment our paths crossed, they became part of our family. And over the years, they have become part of our BCAN family as well, forming meaningful connections with countless bladder cancer patients, loved ones and members of the medical community through the annual Walks to End Bladder Cancer.
